Alcuin Joseph Kirsch Jr, 86, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on December 22, 2025 in Casper.
Alcuin was born in Nicktown, Pennsylvania to Alcuin Kirsch Sr and Frances Becker Kirsch on March 22, 1939. He attended Cambria County High School graduating in 1957. He was drafted into the Army serving in an artillery unit in Germany. He was awarded medals for Good Conduct and Sharpshooter. He was honorably discharged as a non-commissioned officer with the rank of Specialist 5.
He went on to earn degrees in Education and German as well as his Education Specialist Degree. He taught German in Conneautville, Pennsylvania. Upon relocating to Rawlins, Wyoming he was the owner and operator of Rawlins Plumbing and Heating.
Al continued to be a sharpshooter earning multiple trophies for Silhouette shooting in statewide competitions. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved to just take a drive “down south” to look for wildlife and enjoy the scenery.
He also continued to be an educator teaching his daughters home maintenance and repair, car maintenance and the value of hard work. He frequently put his own interests aside to support and care for those he loved. He will be deeply missed by his family.
He is survived by his daughters Caroline Kirsch(Craig Russell) and Kathleen Kirsch(James Koehn), his granddaughters Chloe Russell and Marcella Koehn and his siblings Archie Kirsch, Leo Kirsch, Marlene(Kirsch) Bauman, Claudia(Kirsch) Opfar and Berenice Kirsch. He is preceded in death by his wife LaRena Thompson Kirsch, his parents Alcuin Kirsch Sr. and Frances Becker Kirsch, His siblings Raymond Kirsch, Sister Mary Agnes Kirsch, Luella (Kirsch) Slack and Henry Kirsch.
Funeral services will be held at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Casper, Wyoming on January 24th at 11am with Father Cliff Jacobson officiating. Luncheon to follow.
