Alfred Anderson Ashby Jr., known to all as Anderson, passed away on February 2, 2026. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on October 21, 1987, Anderson lived a life defined by kindness, humor, hard work, and deep love for those around him.
Anderson was known for his strong work ethic and his genuine care for others. He worked in food service at HEB, Whole Foods, and Chili’s, where he was especially loved for his cooking and his dedication to customers. In June 2023, he moved to Wyoming to be with his wife, Nicole, and began working at Walmart in the produce department.
Standing 6’4”, Anderson was often recognized for his height, his love of sports teams like the Yankees, Knicks, and Washington Commanders, and his warm, charismatic personality. He loved comedy, music, and making people laugh, and he had a special gift for bringing joy to everyday moments. A talented cook, musician, and dancer, Anderson lived life with creativity and heart.
Anderson deeply loved his family and was especially proud of his father, Andy. Anderson was devoted to his mother Patricia, his sisters, Joanne and Stefani, his cousin BJ, and his nieces and nephews. Above all, he cherished his wife, Nicole. The two met in 2011, shared years of life together, navigated long distance with devotion, and were married on December 15, 2024.
Anderson faced cancer with remarkable resilience and strength. He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the way he made even ordinary days feel special. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A Celebration of Life honoring Anderson will be held on Thursday, March 12th, at 4 p.m. at College Heights Baptist Church.
