Born Alice Faye Stafford in Cody on February 23, 1928, the daughter of Cecil Monroe Stafford and Alice Mae (Gentner) Stafford. She was the oldest of 5 children. Know to her family as "Doll". She was raised on the family ranch north of Cody, Wyoming looking at Heart Mountain. Alice attended Westside School graduating from Cody High School. She was an experienced horsewoman. Alice was an avid trail rider and animal lover all of her life. She was a member of the Chinook Winds Riding Club and a quilter and belonged to the SR Quilt group. She volunteered at the Historical Trails Center, as well as the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR). Alice was a supporter of the new fairgrounds arena in Casper. She is survived by sons: Robert William Niedheiser, Jr. and Clark Stafford Niedheiser of Casper and Heidi Lynn Niedheiser of Columbus, Ohio and three sisters: Nancy Shaw of Cody, Virginia Bell of Brighton, CO, and Elizabeth "Betty" Heuermann and husband Bob of Riverton and one brother Clark P. Stafford of Rock Springs. She enjoyed her 13 nieces and nephews and several grand and great grand nieces and nephews. As per her wishes cremation will take place and her ashes will be scattered over the ranch. There will be a Celebration of Life will be at 2:00, Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds Country Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice.
