IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ann G.
Adams
January 21, 1943 – January 24, 2026
Memorial Service
St. Stephen's Episcopal Church
Starts at 12:00 pm (Mountain time)
Ann Glanville (Natrass) Adams passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in Casper, Wyoming, surrounded by family and friends, on January 24, 2026.
She was born to Edward Natrass and Emily (Nichols) Natrass on January 21, 1943, and grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. She made lifelong friends wherever she went, including her grade school friend, Vera Plymate, her first husband, Bob Kuprion, and friends from her Episcopal Youth Group. She met her second husband, Bob Adams, when visiting a friend in Wyoming and fell in love with him and his mountain. They wed in 1966. Ann and Bob had 3 children, Kurt, Kyle and Emily. Kurt passed away in 1971, and Emily and Kyle spent their childhood in the geodesic dome Bob, Natrona County’s first Parks director, built on Casper Mountain. Ann laughed about telling the pediatrician that the children got scraped when they fell off the lawn.
Ann was an active community member and entrepreneur, notably the owner of the Maternity Boutique on Second Street in the 1980’s. After Bob's passing in 1989, she continued living on Casper Mountain for another 30 years. Her legacy on Casper Mountain, spanning over 53 years, is filled with stories of friendship with neighbors and the mountain community. Ann's Kentucky roots were well known at her annual Kentucky Derby Parties, which she hosted at her home overlooking the canyon every May, even in snowstorms.
Ann was a woman of grace and faith. She was an integral part of St. Stephen's Episcopal church where she found a second home and was active in the Vestry and community outreach. In the last few months of her life, she was completing the process to become a licensed Eucharistic Visitor. During her life, she was a caretaker to several people, including Mrs. Tate.
She liked to travel, but her favorite trips were to her fishing cabin in the Big Horns, which had a view of Cloud Peak and a trout stream beside it. She loved fishing, knitting, reading, caring for animals, taking walks to see the summer wildflowers, and telling stories with loved ones over coffee and her famous cheeseball and crackers. She loved the arts and music, both hymns at church and Ella Fitzgerald, and she collected photography and paintings.
Ann was known for her incredible strength, her Wyoming pioneering spirit, and her faith and kindness. She was also well known for her "Ann-isms", a blend of folksy wisdom and authenticity. She is best remembered for her love for her family, friends and her ability to bring people together and always make them feel cared for and understood. The Jourgensen family knew this first-hand, and the three girls, Kristi, Ingrid, and
Briana, had a bond with Ann that will endure for their lifetime. One of her favorite books was Anne Morrow Lindbergh's "A Gift from the Sea" for its gentle wisdom about life through all seasons. Ann Adams was our “gift from the mountain.” When her failing eyesight led her to leave the mountain for town, she continued to gather friends at her apartment complex in Casper. She greatly missed Gloria Gordon and Sue Cummings.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, her husband, Bob Adams, and her son, Kurt Adams.
She is survived by her son, Kyle Adams; daughter, Emily Arnwine; granddaughter, Isabell Arnwine; her two great grandsons, Colton Jackson and Kaycee James; a nephew, Scott (Dawn) Long; a cousin Bruce (Cheryl) Daniels; her first husband Bob Kuprion; and her many friends, neighbors, and her family at St. Stephen's church.
Memorial services will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church at 4700 S. Poplar St in Casper, WY 82601 on June 20, 2026 at 12:00 A celebration of life will follow after the Memorial service at St. Stephen’s.
