Anne T. Johnson, 94, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026.
Born January 26, 1932, in Vienna, Austria, to Lorenz and Anna (Schaffer) Berthold, Anne came to the United States at age 17, settling in Omaha, Nebraska. There, she worked as an assistant editor for a German-language newspaper and met Odell Johnson, whom she married on March 5, 1955.
As an Air Force family, Anne and Odell raised four children while living across the United States and Europe. Anne later worked as a realtor in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and served as an Ombudsman in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Anne enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, science fiction, and time with her family. She was a woman of strong faith who cherished her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Anne is survived by her children: Sandra Johnson (Richard Hauber) of Weston, Wyoming; Gary (Traci) Johnson of Half Moon Bay, California; Terence (Stephanie) Johnson of Centreville, Virginia; and Jeffrey (Xinyi) Johnson of Las Cruces, New Mexico; her grandchildren: Jessica, Delos, Samantha, Julia, Celi, and Sirianne; and her great-grandchildren: Brecken, Bailey, Cassidy, and Elianna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell M. Johnson, her parents, and her half-sister, Miriam.
A Celebration of Life will be held at LifeCare Assisted Living in Casper on May 23rd, from 2-3pm, with burial in Baltic, South Dakota, at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Texas A&M University Odell M. Johnson ’62 Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund, or the charity of your choice.
