Arthur Ray McNare, 82, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on September 30, 2025, at home in Casper, Wyoming.
Art was born in Douglas, Wyoming to Vern LaRue McNare and Alice Enid (Jones) McNare on October 15, 1942. He was delivered by the midwife, and his name is on her basket in the museum in Douglas along with all the other babies she helped bring into this world. He went to high school in Douglas and graduated in 1961. After which he enrolled in the Air Force where he was a Parachute Rigger. After his service, which ended in 1965, he held many jobs. He was the owner of the Texaco Gas Station that used to be across the street from the library, the Texaco Gas Station at CY and Poplar, Horizon Gift Store in Sunrise Shopping Center, Dr. Vinyl, A&S Carpet and many other adventures.
Art married Lola Meyer in 1966. To this union Michael Shane McNare was born. They later divorced and Art married Dorothy Amende in 1971. To this union Samuel Vern McNare was born.
Art is survived by his sons Sam and Michael, grandson Ryan, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, sister Virginia Belt, brothers Jim McNare and Jack McNare, and brother-in-law Fred Amende.
Funeral services will be held at Bustards and Jacoby Funeral Home, 600 CY Avenue, Casper, Wyoming on Thursday, October 9, 2025, in Casper, Wyoming. Viewing will be from 9:00-10:00 am, services at 10:00 am. Following the services burial will be held at the Douglas Cemetery. Bustards and Jacoby Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
