Barbara Jean (Emerson) Garman, 76, of Casper Wyoming, passed away on December 19, 2023 in Casper.
Barbara was Born in Casper to Donald and Edna (Neely) Emerson. She went to Natrona County High School and graduated in 1965. She worked and retired from the City of Casper in 2010. Barbara married the love of her life, John Kelby Garman Jr. July 15, 1966. They, along with their two daughters Nici and Lindi, resided in Casper Wyoming. Together they enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and boating with their daughters, extended family, and many friends. Barbara also enjoyed sewing especially Macrame and was an avid reader. She attended and was married at the First Assembly of God church in Casper. Barbara is survived by her husband of over 57 years John Kelby Garman, Jr. of Casper, Daughter Lindi Garman (spouse Jason Collins), of Colorado. Sister Donna (Emerson) Behounek (Richard), of Cheyenne. Sister-in-Law MaryAnn (Garman) Hoff (Kenneth), of Casper. Brother-in-Law Larry Garman (Kathy) of Montana, best friend Norma Parker (Jim (deceased)), and many Nieces and Nephews. Barbara had a special bond with Gage Riley West her “adopted” Grandson. She was preceded in death by Daughter Nicole “Nici” Jean Garman. Mother Edna (Neely) Emerson, Father Donald Emerson, Step Mother Jeanette Emerson, Sister-in-law Linda (Garman) Skinner, Sister-in-Law Rita Garman, and In-Laws Jack and Leona Garman.
Barbara was a giving and kind person and was always putting others first. She was fun to be around and always brought a smile to your face. Her smile and laughter were contagious. Barbara’s personal slogan was ‘We will do that tomorrow’ and that’s pretty much what happened. Another of Barbara-isms included ‘I love you more’.
At her request, no services will be held. She will be inurnment at Oregon Trail Veteran’s Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
