Betty Blain

February 12, 1932 — August 21, 2021

Betty Blain passed away August 21, 2021, at the age of 89 in Casper, Wyoming.
She was born February 12, 1932, in Olney, Illinois, the first of three children born to Lucille (McClure) and Fred Egleston. She spent her early years there until the family moved to Arizona for her father's health. After her freshman year, the family moved to Worland, Wyoming, where she completed high school.
She married Ted Blain on December 28, 1950, and began an oil field nomadic way of life through Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and Utah. They had a daughter, Arretta, in 1955. She had wanted a bigger family, but was not blessed with one of her own. Having the opportunity to help periodically raise the 4 children of her brother, Blaine, who passed young meant a great deal to her.
Her number one job was to provide a family home wherever that might be, even when she had outside employment. She worked often as a bookkeeper and secretary/receptionist. She retired in Casper from the Wyoming Securities Commision.
She enjoyed a variety of volunteer work such as Habitat for Humanity, taxes at the Senior Center, and craft classes for nursing homes. She, also, enjoyed traveling around the United States and did get one trip to the British Isles.
She is survived by her daughter, Arretta (Jim) Hasquet, of Gillette, grandson, Jay (Shawn) Hasquet, of Spearfish, granddaughter, Gina (Aaron) DeCelle, of Gillette, great-grandchildren, Abby, Jacob, Brooklyn, and Molly, her brother's living children, Cindy Stump, Becky Egleston, and Dan Egleston, her brother, David Egleston, and his children.
Her favorite charities were the local Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity.
The family appreciates the special care of the angels who staff the local hospice service and Chapman House.
The remembrance was private.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home , 600 CY Avenue, Casper, WY 82601.
