Billie Brehm Varah-Tipton

  Billie Varah Tipton, age 89, of Casper, WY, passed away at her home on Oct. 15.

  Billie was born on May 27, 1933, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, to Ray and Bernice Varah. She graduated from Shoshoni High School in 1951.  She took a secretary class in Omaha, Nebraska. She worked for the state of Wyoming Expanded Foods and Nutrition Program. She was involved in the County extension program and 4-H.  She volunteered at Meals on Wheels as a driver and route coordinator for over 20 years. Her favorite activities were gardening, watching the birds and squirrels in the back yard, quilting, trading books with friends, her pets, and spoiling her grandkids. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she enjoyed getting to know the people and working with them.

  Billie is survived by sons David and Dan [Colleen] Tipton of Casper, daughter Laurie [David] Dermody of Williamsburg, IA, sister Nancy [Carol Lea Goyne] Varah of San Diego, CA, three grandsons Shaun [Leslie, and stepdaughter Karah] Tipton of Casper, Erik Tipton of Loveland, CO, Travis Dermody of Parnell, IA. One granddaughter Ashley [Dan] Hartmann of Sycamore, IL.

  She has three great grandchildren, Oliver and Layla Hartmann of Sycamore, IL, and Danyelle Santistevin of Casper.

  She was preceded in death by her husband Kaye Tipton, her parents Ray and Bernice Varah, Stepfather George Gano, and three older siblings.

  She valued her friends and family. She will be greatly missed.  She was a loving and wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister, and friend.
