Carl Robert Linden, affectionately known as "Pappy" and formally recognized as 2nd Lieutenant Linden, proudly served his country in the Army. He was a devoted father, husband, and friend. Carl was born on October 30, 1938, and passed away on January 8, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula Mae Linden, who was the love of his life, his partner, and his best friend. He was also preceded in death by his father, Art Linden, his mother, Rosalie Linden, his grandson, Jesse Wadley, his great granddaughter, Kaylie Rose Canaday.
Carl was renowned for his kindness and generosity. To know him was a privilege, and to become his friend and a part of his family was an honor. He treated everyone with equal respect and upheld traditional values throughout his life, instilling them in his children.
Carl is survived by his daughter, Teresa Linden-Wadley (also known as Terri); his stepsons, Steve Trammell and Scott Trammell; his granddaughters, Christina (Shawn) Bennett, Jennifer (Mykayhla) Trammell Roark, Mandy (Clayton) Gheza, and April Ewing; his grandsons, Josh Trammell and Matthew Trammell and his great-grandsons, Sam Bennett, Julian Bennett, Kayden Canaday, great granddaughters Kamdyn Canaday and Sophie Bennett. As well as his numerous nephews and nieces.
He is also survived by his sister, Joanne Johnson (whom he affectionately called Jo), and his brothers, Richard Linden and Dave Linden.
Pappy was an exceptional individual, always offering a kind word and a warm smile. He was a man of faith who prioritized his family. He was always willing to share his possessions, often stating, "OH MAN," when circumstances arose. While he was not one to yell, he demonstrated a firm hand when necessary. He now rests peacefully in the arms of our heavenly father, alongside his beloved wife, where he truly desired to be after her passing.
Carl's memorial service will be held at the VFW on Bryan Stock Trail in Casper, Wyoming, at 11:00 AM. The service will commence with military honors, followed by a celebration of his life. All who knew him are welcome to attend and join us in honoring the life of a truly remarkable man.
