Carol Elaine Gerhardt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Casper, Wyoming, at the age of 77. Born on July 6, 1948, in Chadron, Nebraska, she was a shining light to all who knew her.
Carol dedicated over 25 years of her career to the Natrona County School District, serving as an Administrative Assistant for the Superintendent of Schools. Her selfless nature extended beyond her professional life; she was a devoted 4-H leader for her children, instilling in them the values of hard work and community spirit. Carol was not just a nurturing presence, but a talented seamstress as well.
Throughout her life, Carol was known for her warm and kind heart. She was selfless, loving, empathetic, and exceptionally organized. As a matriarch, she epitomized modesty and humility, always ready to lend a listening ear as a good friend and confidant. Those who had the privilege of spending time with her will remember her caring and giving spirit, which made an indelible mark on their lives.
Her family brought her immense pride, and they were her greatest accomplishment. Carol is survived by her loving husband, Terry; daughters Tracy (Greg) McCoy and Kelly White; son Micky (Melissa) McCoy; grandchildren Bailey, Mikayla, Isaiah, Olivia, and Barrett; great-grandchildren Laela and Liani; brother Loren (June) Tope along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished her dearly.
Carol cherished the little moments that defined life. She loved camping in the majestic Big Horn Mountains or at Alcova, embracing the beauty of nature with her family. An avid reader and Bible study participant, Carol found solace in learning and sharing her faith. She also enjoyed volunteering at the local food bank, playing Bunco, Yahtzee, and cribbage, and connecting with friends through her involvement in Beta Sigma Phi.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles and Mabel Tope. Though they have left this world, their spirits live on through the legacy of love that Carol cultivated in her family.
As we remember Carol Elaine Gerhardt, we celebrate a life beautifully lived—one dedicated to kindness, love, and the cherished bonds of family. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light for generations to come.
