IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlotte Eileen
Kolb
November 4, 1944 – February 19, 2026
Charlotte Eileen Kolb, 81, of Casper, Wyoming passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper Wyoming.
Charlotte was born in Casper, Wyoming to Arne R. Skjonhaug and Doris E. Skjonhaug on November 4, 1944. She began her schooling in a one room school house and continued her education and graduated from Natrona County High School.
Charlotte was the heart of our family, a steadfast, loving, and fiercely loyal matriarch whose home was always “home” to anyone who walked through her door. To many, she was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, aunt, and friend. To all of us, she was a constant source of strength, warmth, and unwavering love.
Charlotte’s legacy is one of grit and grace, generosity and joy. She taught us to work hard, love deeply, laugh often, and always make room at the table. Though her absence leaves an ache in our hearts, the lessons she taught us and the love she gave will remain with us forever.
She had a deep love for the outdoors and felt most alive under an open sky. Whether hunting at dawn, casting a line into still waters, or hiking across mountains and plains, Charlotte found peace and purpose in nature. That passion carried into her work as co-owner of Bullwinkles Bait and Tackle alongside her beloved husband, Gene, where she helped create not just a business, but a gathering place for friends and fellow outdoor enthusiasts.
In her younger years, Charlotte lived boldly and adventurously. With her sister Carolyn, she raced Harley motorcycles in Oregon, a testament to her fearless spirit. Later, when they were both in Casper, the Sisters partnered again to start their own business in carpentry, roofing, and painting, proving there was nothing Charlotte couldn’t accomplish once she set her mind to it. In later years, she worked for the State Employment Department, building lifelong friendships while serving and supporting her community.
Charlotte’s creativity was boundless. She loved to crochet and, over the years, made thousands of hats for Caps for Kids, wrapping children in warmth and kindness with every stitch. She cherished crafting and sewing with her sisters, nieces, nephews and grand daughter, passing down both skill and laughter. An avid reader, she often had two or three books going at once, always eager to learn and lose herself in a good story.
Deeply involved in her community, Charlotte was active in the Senior Center, where she formed lasting friendships and touched countless lives. She devoted her time to PTA, supported the Fittje Memorial Fishing Derby, and gave generously to the organizations that strengthened both her family and her community.
She loved a good game of cards, especially when she beat the kids, which she did with a sparkle in her eye and a triumphant smile. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and carried more love in her heart than seemed humanly possible. Her joy was found in her family’s successes, her comfort in their presence, and her purpose in caring for those she loved.
She will be missed beyond words and remembered beyond measure.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Carlene DeShaw and Shari Kolb, her son Steve Kolb. Her grandchildren David Kolb, Sydnee Taylor, Dan Kolb, Valerie Ames, Zach Taylor, Rachel Kolb and Danika Taylor. Her great granddaughter Saaronee Gish and great grandson Chester Taylor. She also is survived by her nieces Cindy Vigesaa, Janette Skjonhaugh-Elder and Stephanie Dumbrill and great nieces McKenna Velazquez, Harley Coffel, Catherine Vigesaa, Angel Angell and great nephews Albert Heinen, Erryk Angell, Tiger Vigesaa, Weylon Howard and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Kolb, daughter Kelly Marie Kolb, her parents Arne and Doris Skjonhaug, her siblings Carol Skjonhaug, Carolyn Howard, Christie Cieslar and Cliff Skjonhaugh, nephew Bryan Craig Howard and niece Nicole Howard.
Memorial Services will be held at Tate Pump House, 1775 West 1st Street in Casper on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10:00 am. Interment of ashes at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery will be at 3:00 pm for those that wish to join.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for City Park Church Foster Closet.
The family wish to extend gratitude to her friends for being a part of her life and being the sparkle in her eye.
