Cheryl Ann Lipes

January 8, 1958 — May 30, 2023

Casper, Wyoming

Cheryl went home to the Lord Jesus Christ on the morning of May 30th, 2023, in Casper, WY. She was born on January 8th, 1958, to Vern and Mildred Jackson in Billing Montana. She was the 4th of 5 children and the only girl. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1976 and she would later move to Craig, CO where she met her future husband Allen Lipes, and they were married on January 14th, 1984. 2 years later, their son Robert was born, and he brought her so much joy.

Chery enjoyed spending time outdoors and it was her husband Allen who managed to get her to enjoy hunting and she grew to enjoy all aspects of it. Many fall days were spent chasing deer and maybe elk with her family and friends. One of her best and proudest hunting memories was when she got her first and only bull elk. It was a massive, bodied elk and she was so proud of her accomplishment that she made sure to drive slowly through town so everyone could see her trophy. She worked various jobs over the years from waitressing at local cafes to working in the records department and later the payroll department at T.I.C. in Steamboat Springs as well as at Colowyo Coal Mine. It was at “TK’s Café” where some of her closest friends were made, who would end up becoming more family than friend. It was those very friends who were there for some of the best times as well as some of the darkest times. After 25+ years living in Craig, Cheryl made the hard decision that it was time to move back to Casper, WY, however she would always consider Craig “home”. In Casper, she returned to her faith and became a regular member of Mountain View Baptist Church and helped throughout the church in various ministries. She loved helping with Good News Club and VBS where she got to share the love of Christ with children as well as helping with the Wednesday Food Pantry. One of her proudest moments was seeing her son get married and she became even more proud with the birth of her only grandchild Everett. Being a grandma made her so proud and brought her so much joy, she loved every minute of it.

Cheryl is survived by her son Robert (Phylicia) Lipes, grandson Everett Lipes, brothers David (JoAnne) Jackson, Alan (Dianna) Jackson, Kevin Jackson, sister-in-law Patsy Diamanti. She is preceded in death by her husband Allen Lipes, her parents Vern and Mildred Jackson, her brother Clint Jackson, brother-in-law Larry Diamanti, and stepson Charles Lipes.

A celebration of life service will be held July 8th at 11 AM at Mountain View Baptist Church in Mills Wyoming.
