In loving memory of Christopher Allyn Goodwin
May 5th, 1952- November 17th 2023
Christopher Allyn Goodwin, born on May 5th, 1952, in Worland, Wyoming, peacefully passed away on November 17th, 2023, in Casper, Wyoming. He began his journey in education, graduating from Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri, and
later pursuing higher education at Stephen F Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Christopher returned to the Big Horn Basin area after his high school graduation, where he met Karen Susan Peterson (Susie). Christopher won Susie’s heart over at a home coming dance in 1970. Chris and Susie married on August 14th 1971 in Greybull, Wyoming.
Christopher's professional journey took him to Dresser Minerals in Greybull, Wyoming, before embracing entrepreneurship. He became the proud owner of Apple Annie's Shoe Tree in Cody, Wyoming, a venture that showcased his determination and business acumen. A visionary, he expanded into the beauty industry, establishing a salon and tanning bed store.
Beyond his professional achievements, Christopher held a deep passion for river rafting. He became an expert boatman, navigating the challenging waters of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon a remarkable 12 times. His love for adventure extended to rivers across the country, where he honed his skills and shared the joy of rafting with others.
Following his passion and family ties, Christopher relocated to Colorado to be closer to his beloved grandchildren. Eventually, he returned to Wyoming, where he contributed his skills as an engineer for ISC, a Technology Company. After a fulfilling career, he retired and cherished the remaining years with his devoted wife Susie, celebrating 52 years of love and companionship.
Christopher was preceded in death by his parents Seth Allyn Goodwin and his mother Marjorie Saldana. Christopher is survived by his loving wife Karen Susan (Susie) Goodwin, son Brandon (Korina) Goodwin, son Justin (Virginia) Goodwin, grandson Austin (Danielle) Goodwin, granddaughter Lindsay (Jeff) Grubb, Matthew Goodwin, Lily and Kai Goodwin, great granddaughter Karter Layne Goodwin, brother Greg Goodwin, sister Michelle Copeland, sister Kristi Jennings, sister Jill (Joe) Dauster, Kerry (Scott)Love, step brother Michael (Kelle) Saldana, step father Felix Saldana, multiple nieces and nephews and many friends.
Christopher was a pillar of strength, known for his unwavering kindness and compassion. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others, always lending a listening ear and offering heartfelt advice. His genuine interest in people and their
stories made him a true friend to many.
A celebration of Christopher Allyn Goodwin's life will take place on Saturday, November 25th, at 1:30 pm at Bustards Funeral Home; 600 CY Ave, Casper, WY 82601. Please join us to celebrate the amazing man he was and share memories of a
life well-lived.
Though Christopher may no longer be with us, his legacy of love and compassion will continue to guide us. May he rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and forever loved.
