Clarence Richard “Rick” Ettles Jr. peacefully passed away June 8, 2025, in Casper, Wyoming with his loving wife, daughters, son and family by his side at 78 years old. Rick was born July 19,1946, in Craig, CO. to Clarence Richard Ettles Sr. and Margaret Emma Logan.
Rick married the love of his life of 50 years Sheryl, December 7, 1974, and had 2 daughters along with a son from a previous marriage. He loved to joke and laugh, team rope, chariot race, hunt and camp in Elk Mountain, WY. but most of all he loved his family and especially his grandchildren and animals (which nothing out trumped his horses and cattle). Rick was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and most of all he was a character and mentor that touched so many lives throughout his 78 years of life, and you could always count on him doing his rounds at 10 mph in his white dodge pickup, as what his daughter Jody called him the “Rolling Hills Livestock Commissioner”. He knew every animal from dog to cattle and where it lived in Rolling Hills and if there was something that didn’t look right or was out of place, he would be one of the first to know.
Rick is survived by his wife of 50 years Sheryl, sons Rick (Dani), Brett (Leona), daughters Michele (Paul) and Jody (Jared). Grandchildren Bryce, Eian, Oaklee, Gali, ShaLaine (Albie) and Great Granddaughter Ari. Sisters Pat (Roger), Liz (John), Diana, Toni along with family friends/brother Sherman & Maro, The Cowden’s and many nieces, nephews and friends that became family.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents Clarence & Margaret, sisters Vera, Sharon & Janice, nephew Kyle, father-in-law Roy, sister-in-law Karen.
Services will be held Saturday July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Bible Baptist Church, 405 S. Park St. Casper, WY 82601. We will have a luncheon following the services at the church.
