Clarice Yankey "Yankee"

Mom Clarice Yankey (Yankee) was born September 15, 1925 in Perley, Minnesota to Albert and Josephine Ohnstad. She passed peacefully on September 26, 2019. Her family moved to Casper in 1948. She met and married Wilbur (Bud) L. Yankey on October 16th, 1948. From this union they had four children, Cora, Jean, Wilbur (Bill) and Linda. Her husband Wilbur (Bud) died in a refinery accident in June 1963, leaving her to be both Mom & Dad to their children. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Don and Garland. Clarice (Butch) was dedicated and independent in her ways, working to support her family. She was employed for many years at Walt's Hobby Shop. She knew many of the young and old race track fans. She retired from Wyoming Medical Center at age 70, but still enjoyed and missed the work life. You could always find her at a Bingo game, even while residing at Poplar Living Center. Whenever the occasion arose, she was quick to make a trip to Deadwood or Riverton to spend time (but little money) on the "one armed bandits". She would be content to play on the same penny machine for hours. Whenever the Super Bowl or World Series pools came around, she was quick to get her "squares". She was intense when she scratched her instant win lottery tickets sent to her for special occasions from Colorado and New Mexico. Clarice is survived by her children Cora (Bill) Moynihan, Casper, WY, Jean (Dick) Farmer, Flora Vista, NM, Wilbur (Donna) Yankey, Las Vegas, NV, and Linda (Danny) Martinez, Mesquite, NV. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Services will be held at Bustard's Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Central Wyoming Hospice, or Meals on wheels would be appreciated.
