Connie Lynn Elrod, 75, passed away on January 17th 2026 surrounded by her family after a brief illness.

Connie was born on January 11th 1951 in Douglas Wyoming to John F. and Florence L. Septer (Metz). She was the baby sister to her brother, John W. Septer.

Connie grew up in Midwest Wyoming and attended Midwest High School where she participated in band and cheerleading before graduating in 1969. That same year she married Donald L. Hembree from Casper. In August of 1972 They welcomed a son, Donald D. Hembree. Donald and Connie later divorced.

In 1979, Connie married George O. Elrod. They had a son, Aaron Elrod born in December of 1980. Connie and George were happily married until his death in May of 2023.

Connie worked for Stratton Real Estate for many years before going to work for Jim Wren. Connie later joined one of her best friends, Mike Crank, at Central Wyoming Appraisal Services where she happily worked until she retired.

Connie’s hobbies and activities included gardening, camping, painting, gambling trips, Denver Broncos football and spending time with her family. She was a devoted partner, mom, grandma and great grandma. She loved it when her house was full of family, laughter and a winning Broncos game.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 44 years, George, sister-in-law Jeannine Septer, special friend Connie Barberton and nephew John J. Septer. She is survived by her sons, Don and Aaron (Cody), brother John, grandchildren Kelsey and Cameron, 3 step-grandchildren, Lieff, Saje and Reede, and her great-grandson, Oakley George.

Funeral services to be held at Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home on Friday January 30th at 2PM.
