David Gene Ellis

David Gene Ellis died in Casper, Wyoming on August 19, 2026.  He was born in Alliance, Nebraska October 17, 1952 to Raymond (Bud) Ellis and Pauline Ellis.  He graduated from Niobrara County High School in Lusk, Wyoming in 1971.

David participated in high school rodeo doing team roping.  He worked with his family in their trucking company among many other jobs.  He worked for many years at Anderson Sign Company where he retired from.  Over the years he supplied stock for both high school and college rodeo.  He was a cowboy at heart.  He loved trading horses with his father over the years.  He raised cattle and horses.  He loved to hunt and to guide hunters in the mountains in North and Western Wyoming.

David is survived by his sons, TJ Ellis of Texas and Kyle Ellis of Casper, Wyoming; his grandchildren, Blaine and Charlee Jo Ellis of Iowa and Laurie Lyon and son, Isaac of Laramie, Wyoming; his brothers, Dennis Ellis of Nebraska and Douglas Ellis of Tennessee; and many cousins and friends.

There will be a celebration of life on September 15, 2026 at the 3 Sisters Truck Stop in Manville, Wyoming at 1:00 pm.
