David Ortiz Sr

David Ortiz Sr., 92 years old, of Bar Nunn, WY, formerly of New York, NY, passed away, peacefully, in his sleep on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Mr. Ortiz was retired from the building services industry. He was born in New York City on December 29, 1933, son of Juan Ortiz Pagan and Nemesia (Lopez) Ortiz. In death he joins his sister Rosalina Rodriguez, brother, Samuel Ortiz, half-brother Joseph Carasquillo, son Donald James Ortiz, and grandson Jacob Andrew Ortiz. Mr. Ortiz lived a long and fulfilling life. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a lifelong devotee of the New York Yankees and the New York Football Giants.

Mr. Ortiz is survived by his partner Shirley Henderson of Bar Nunn, WY, her children Lynn, Dale, and Karen, and their families. He is also survived by his son David Ortiz Jr. and wife Deborah Marie of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Delia Rosa Ortiz and partner Christopher Michael Warren Heath, of Norman, OK; four grandchildren – Erik David Ortiz and wife Laura, Elena Marie Ortiz and partner Travis Revicki, Jamie Michael Ortiz, and Dustin Ortiz – and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bar Nunn Baptist Church, 1401 Sunset Blvd, Bar Nunn WY, on Friday February 20, 2026 at 1:30 PM.
