Obituary

Deborah Lou Lavering passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2026, in Casper. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. Deb had a heart for others and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her.

Deb was born in Fort Smith Arkansas on October 25, 1960, to Thelma and Norman Williams. She was raised and spent a large part of her life in California, where she met and married the love of her life, Craig, before they moved their family to Wyoming.

For 16 years, Deb worked with Natrona County School District Student Support, where she dedicated herself to educating and caring for every child she encountered. She had a special gift for making students feel seen, valued, and loved, and her impact will continue to live on in the many lives she helped shape.

Deb found great joy in traveling and experiencing the world with her family. She had a deep love of reading and a curiosity for history, often spending time exploring museums and learning about the past. Whether she was visiting a new place or enjoying a quiet moment with a good book, she embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. She also loved spending time outdoors and cherished life’s simple moments. She was a devoted Elvis Presley fan, and one of her dreams was to travel to Graceland, a place that brought her joy and excitement whenever it was talked about.

Her faith was an important part of her life, and her love of the Lord guided the way she lived, cared for others, and loved her family.

Above all, she treasured time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the absolute joy of her life. Her love for them was constant, unconditional, and deeply felt.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Craig; her brothers, Walter and Gary; her sons, Joshua (Courtney) and Aarron (Jennifer); her daughter, Baley (Adrian); and her beloved grandchildren, Tristin, Gabriel, Zander, Xavier, Dylan, Aaron, Allison, Everett, Matauz, and Katalina Rose, each of whom she adored beyond measure. She also leaves behind her lifelong friends, whom she cherished, and the many memories they shared: Tom, and Barb.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jimmy; her sister, Arletta; her son, Derral, and her lifelong friend Cheryl.

Words cannot fully express the light and love that left this world with her passing. She will be missed every day, in both the quiet moments and the big ones alike, and will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her most. Cremation will take place, and Deb will be interred near her brother and parents in California. A celebration of her life will be held later this summer.
