Deo Carmichael, 83, passed away December 20, 2016 in Casper, WY. Memorial services will be held at 11AM on Friday, December 23rd at Bustard's Funeral Home. Burial in Cheyenne, WY will take place at a later date. Deo was born January 7, 1933 in Diller, NE to Vance and Gertrude Carmichael. He attended area schools, graduating from Hastings High School in 1951. After high school, Deo worked for a year at Mountain Bell. He then joined the U.S. Air Force, serving in various overseas locations. Deo married Ona Bergner on January 7, 1954 in Sydney, NE while in the service. Upon discharge, he returned to Mountain Bell, retiring after 33 years. After retirement, Deo and Ona enjoyed traveling the western U.S. in their RV. Deo never met a stranger. He enjoyed meeting new people and seeing new places. He loved a bargain whether buying a car or finding a deal at a garage sale. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ona; children, Deo (Kelli) Carmichael, Deona (Gordon) Schuler, and Don (Sandy) Rickard, all of Casper, WY; grandchildren, Jared (Marie) Carmichael, Danielle (Dain) Heaton, Alyssa Schuler, Melissa (Jack) Hoard, and Bryce Rickard; ten great-grandchildren; and sister, Ilene Ditsworth of California. He was preceded in death by daughter, Adena, in 1967, as well as his parents, seven brothers, and two sisters. Memorials in Deo's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, or the charity of the donor's choice.
