Donald Nelson Glasgow was born on May 25, 1933, in Lander, Wyoming to Richard Glasgow and Eleanor Spenser. Sadly, he passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, September 1, 2025, in Casper, Wyoming after enjoying ice cream at Life Care Center of Casper.
Donald graduated from Lander Valley High School in 1951. After high school, he went on to join the Navy in the spring of 1952. Don served in the Korean War onboard a mine sweeper. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the China Service Medal. He was Honorably Discharged from the Navy in the spring of 1956.
After the Navy, Don was a janitor for Lander Valley High School, then at Safeway. From there, he moved to Casper to be the new Produce Manager at Safeway. Later, Don retired from the US Post Office after 20 years of service as a letter carrier.
Don loved his family – they were most important to him. He loved having dinner with his family, and family gatherings. His kids & grandkids were his top priority. He would always give them gum and could do an awesome impersonation of Donald Duck. His proudest accomplishment was raising his children to be good and responsible adults.
Don had a deep appreciation for the outdoors – especially hunting and fishing. The winter months were his favorite time of year. As an avid outdoorsman, his ‘special vacation’ was an Alaskan fishing trip with his son, Rich. Don also liked the gambling trips to Riverton and hanging out with his sister-in-law Maralyn. Country music was a favorite, especially Alan Jackson and the Mavericks to name a few. Don also loved to tell & hear jokes. Don and Charlene also joined several bowling teams over the years.
Don is survived by his son, Rich (Doris) Glasgow, son-in-law Ed Selby, son-in-law Ryon Hadley, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Don will be reunited in Glory with those who passed before him: parents Richard and Eleanor; wife Charlene Jurita Glasgow; daughters Gale Selby, Suzan Hadley and Rita Williams; son Ronald Glasgow; brothers Harold, Darrel, and Albert Glasgow; and sister Agnes Boedeker.
Don was a very shy man, but kind to everyone he met. He never raised his voice and ALWAYS had a smile and kind words for everyone. He had a heart of gold and will be missed and remembered fondly by all who knew him.
