Donald Arthur Schaad (71) passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, WY. He suffered for over 2 years from complications after a brain tumor in 2024. He lived in Casper with his daughter, Stacey (and family) for the last 6 years. She was his “Rock” and helped him get through many struggles with recovery.

He is survived by his daughters, Stacey Pfielsticker (TJ), Danielle Schaad, and Cassandra Schaad; Grandchildren - Jace and Abigail Pfielsticker; Siblings - Russell (Pat) Schaad, Nancy Schaad, and Gary (Cathy) Schaad.

Donald (aka Don or Bart) graduated from West Irondequoit High School in Rochester, NY in 1973. He relocated to Denver in 1975 and completed his undergraduate studies, earning a B.S. in Biochemistry from Metro College in Denver, CO.

Don began his career at a Mining Firm in Denver. His older Brother, Russ, soon gave him the opportunity to get his CDL and, upon completion, the chance to partner with him and drive his 18-wheeler semi-truck. Don found this an intriguing proposal and in 1982 began his 40- year career as an Independent Trucker. Don retired from United Van Lines in 2020. He drove millions of miles and experienced the beauty of the United States, his favorite place being Oregon.

Don was a humble guy, shy about sharing much about himself. We found out much later that Don had earned TWO Driver of the Year awards from United Van Lines, without sharing this with his family and friends!

Don loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, taking long walks in parks, mountains, beaches.....Watching football and especially bonding with all the dogs, cats, misc. pets and tropical fish he had or met throughout his life.

Don will be remembered for his HUGE heart inside his guarded exterior.

A celebration of Life will be privately held by his family at a later date.

Thank you to Shepherd of the Valley Care Center. He may have said many colorful statements about living there, but in the end, he viewed many of the staff members and residents as friends and family.
