In His infinite wisdom, our loving Lord saw fit to call Doris home to His waiting arms on Thursday, May 7,2026, after graciously allowing her to attain the age of 92 years. Doris had lived with her family in her home in Casper for the last 45 years.
She was given the gift of life on October 6, 1933, in Milwaukee, WI, as she was born to Emilie and Edward Bork. She was baptized at St. Lucas Lutheran Church on October 14, 1933, and confirmed at the same church in Milwaukee on May 25, 1947.
After high school graduation in 1951, Doris worked as an office stenographer until her marriage to Robert R. (Bob) Miller on December 6, 1952. They had been blessed with seven children and married for 58 years at the time of his passing in 2011.
Bob was in the U.S. Air Force for nine and one–half years, and Doris focused her time and energy on nurturing her children and managing the household as the family moved to different locations. In Milwaukee, Doris was also employed as an office worker. Since moving to Casper in 1981, she had been a medical records clerk, volunteer office worker for the Casper Police Department, Meals on Wheels volunteer, and an active member of Lord of Lords Lutheran Church as well as church organist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two grandchildren, and one great–grandchild. She is survived by daughters Cherie of Casper, Bonnie (Scott) Paschal of Mrytle Beach, SC, Ruth Nagel of Flint, MI, Judy (Steve) Stoltmann of Bossier City, LA, Wendy (Dean) Thaut of Casper; and sons Gary of Cheyenne, and Larry (Kelly) of Las Cruces, NM; nine grandchildren and seven great–grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Lord of Lords Lutheran Church, 5028 Casper Mountain Road, at a later date. The family suggests memorials may be made to Lord of Lords Lutheran Church.
