Duane Grose

Duane Edward Grose 86, of Glenrock, WY went home July 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Duane better known as Bud was born on the family farm north of Ellston, Iowa February 28, 1933 . He was the first born of John and Violet (Trower) Grose. His parents blessed him with three siblings sister, Gloria (Joe) Reed, and brothers Roger (Janet) Grose and Richard Grose. Bud grew up in Ellston where he met and Married Ruby (Vanderpool). They raised four children, Kenny (Janet) Grose, Mike (Pat) Grose, Teresa (Scott) Koltiska and Donnie (Jamie) Grose, raising his family in Ellston as a farmer like his dad, Bud was always working. In 1965 he started his own trucking business and he and Ruby ran the local grocery store. As his kids grew he started custom farming and bailing. Bud later met and married Sylvia (Fay). In 1980 he moved to Wyoming to work with his sons in the oil fields and continued to truck until retiring in 2000. After retiring Bud and Sylvia enjoyed restoring antique John Deere tractors and hauling them to pulls and shows. They were active in growing the Central Wyoming Tractor club and later the Wyoming Antique Tractor Club. Bud also enjoyed wood working, making many beautiful items for friends and family. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roger Grose, brother-in-law Joe Reed and grandson Nick Grose. He is survived by his wife Sylvia, his children and their spouses, 15 grand children, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Janet Grose. A memorial will be planned at a later date.
