Ed Reish, 83, of Casper, WY, entered into eternity, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Central Wyoming Hospice. Services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home.
Edward Clarence Reish Jr. was born on April 2, 1943, in Lamar, CO, the oldest of three sons, to Edward and Marion (Tipton) Reish. He grew up in Lamar and graduated in 1961. He was active in many activities, including football and wrestling, which he went on to play while attending college at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. He graduated in 1965 with a degree as a Petroleum Engineer. He started his professional career in the Gulf Coast states, working for the Kerr-McGee Company on offshore oil rigs. He then relocated his young family to Casper, WY, in 1969, where he worked for Terra Resources until his retirement. After his retirement, he continued to remain active in the field in various capacities, including consulting for several companies.
It was love at first sight for Ed when he met his future wife, Barbara Jean Pickenbrock. They were married in 1965 in Golden, CO. Ed and Barb were blessed with four sons, Edward Clarence III, Eric Charles, Elliot Craig, and Evan Christopher. His sons were a source of pride for Ed. There are many stories of hunting and fishing expeditions, riding in the back of the pick-up to visit grandparents, and the memories created during the many outings to their property in the Pedro Mountains.
Ed was an active participant in the Casper community. He was a member of the National Audubon Society; the Natrona County Historical Society, where he held the office of President; the Casper Antique and Collectors Club; a board member of Casper Midget Football League; a member of Gideons International; and a member of Christ United Methodist Church for 50 years.
Ed had a sharp mind, a competitive spirit, and a love and service for the Lord that was apparent throughout his life. His was a faith that he shared with Barbara and passed on to his sons and grandchildren. Although health challenges marred the last several years of his life, he will be fondly remembered for the times he would playfully tease Barb, for the guidance he offered his sons, for attending his grandchildren’s activities and events, and the joy he had in his interactions with his great-grandchildren.
Ed will be greatly missed by those who survive him, including Barbara, his wife of 60 years; sons, Eddy (DeAnna) and Eric (Lisa), all of Casper, Elliot (Shawna) of Bayard, NE, and Evan (Amy Steel) of Dayton, WY; eleven grandchildren, Elijah (Briana) Reish of Casper, Emily (Darrell) Puckett of Kyle, SD, Jessica Hutchison, Morgan Hughes, both of Casper, Sarah (Collin) Weinmeister of Kearney, NE, Trevor (Candace) Reish of Scottsbluff, NE, Jordyn Reish of Bayard, NE, and Cade, Carleigh, Chaney, and Caelin Reish, all of Dayton, WY; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Beverly) of Cody, WY, and Don (Terri) of Canyon City, CO; numerous brothers- and sisters-in law, nieces, and nephews; and many friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and two brothers-in-law.
In memory of Ed, Barbara has requested that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
