Ernie Trujillo

J.E. "Ernie" Trujillo, age 64, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2010 at Mountain View Regional Hospital in Casper, Wyoming. As he requested, Mr. Trujillo was cremated and had no memorial service. Ernie was born in Taos, New Mexico on April 5, 1946 to Arnold Trujillo & Frances Jacquez-Trujillo. He graduated from Natrona County High School in 1965. In 1966, he enlisted in the Army. During his tour in Vietnam, he served his country well and earned numerous medals, including the Bronze Star. In 1969, he received his Honorable Discharge and returned home. Then on July 25, 1969, Ernie married the love of his life, Gloria Gonzales. Ernie began his working years as an accountant for Northern Utilities, where he worked for 13 years. In 1981 he and his wife bought a small t-shirt shop. Over the course of 25 years, Shirts N' Things expanded their goods and services becoming a well-known and successful business in downtown Casper. Ernie was well liked by all his customers and was known for going above and beyond to provide excellent customer service for his customers. Ernie was best known for creating beautiful custom logos for both silk screen and embroidered designs. After selling his business in 2005, Ernie returned to the accounting field, working at Wyo Media (KTWO Television). Ernie was a member of the Casper Elks Lodge. He was a devoted, faithful, and loving husband. He was a wonderful, loving and tenderhearted father and grandfather "papa". He was a loyal Oakland Raider fan who enjoyed teasing Denver Bronco's fans. He enjoyed cooking, trying new restaurants and fine foods. He enjoyed hanging out with his Lhasa Apso. His witty humor and good natured spirit will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his older brother Arnold Jr.; both of his parents, Arnold and Frances; and his precious granddaughter Shayla Rae Finn. He is survived by his wife Gloria; his two daughters and their husbands Stephanie Trujillo-Davis & Shaun Davis and Amanda Trujillo-Finn & Brock Finn; his beautiful granddaughter Alyssa Davis, age 8; his five handsome grandsons Devyn Davis, age 14; Wyatt Finn, age 8; Lucas Finn, age 7; Bret Finn, age 4; Trevor Finn, age 17 months; his sister Sheila Trujillo-Hamilton; his two beautiful nieces Samantha and Lily Hamilton; his mother-in-law Ann Spitzer; his father-in-law Frank Gonzales; his auntie-in-law Rosie Cardenas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his best buddy in the whole world, Diego his little dog.
