Evonne Hunt

Evonne Mary Tennant Hunt passed away August 11, 2026 after an extended battle with dementia. She was a resident of Thermopolis Rehab and Wellness at the time of her death. She had previously lived at the Wyoming Pioneer Home, Casper, Cody and Worland.

Evonne was born May 28, 1936 in Hanna, Wyoming to Evan (Sleepy) and Gertie Tennant. Evonne was the second of two children. She attended school mainly in Bairoil and high school in Rawlins.

Evonne married Howard Hunt on February 26, 1955. They had two children. Evonne was mainly a housewife while the children grew up, then had several occupations in the following years. She specifically enjoyed making drapes at Hanson Fabric in Worland. Evonne loved square dancing, sewing, was a Brownie and Cub Scout leader and attended her children’s activities.

Evonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; her beloved brother, Don; and her precious Aunts, Betty and Jean.

Evonne is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Mike) Holliday; son, Gene (Kelly) Hunt; grandchildren, Jennifer Freeman, Nikki Thiel, Curtis Hunt, and Tyler Holliday; nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Wyoming Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at Bustard's Reception Center.
