Heaven gained a top hand in Francis “Fran” Eugene O’Donnell on Saturday, March 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and dogs.
Francis was born September 5, 1956 in Rawlins, Wyoming to Thomas Edward O’Donnell and Gwenda (Thomas) Frields. He attended Natrona County High School. He got his start as an auto-body technician at Pazma Paint & Auto Body, specializing in painting. Then working at Sack Brothers, Wyoming Automotive, and then working for Fisher’s until he retired in 2019. In 2020, he obtained his CDL license and drove a Casper Boy’s and Girl’s club bus up until the time of his passing.
Fran was involved at the Casper Rec Center as a referee, umpire and CRLA board member for 30+ years. His passion was with umpiring girl's fast pitch softball and going to many national tournaments. He won many awards as an umpire. He frequently umpired for Legion Baseball as well. His most favorite past time with sports is coaching his sons in Soccer and daughter in Volleyball.
He loved every dog he met, riding in his early years and watching motocross, hunting, camping and listening to music. Fran also enjoyed playing softball, volleyball and bowling.
He is survived by his wife Lynette of 41 years, sons, Micheal (Kelly Santistevan), Christopher, Daughter, Jennifer Carlson (Jayson), grand kids, Hunter Santistevan, Hailey and Parker, all from Casper. Sister, Linda and nephew, Aaron of Chilicothe, MO. The beloved dogs, Sidney, Tucker, Huckleberry and grand dogs, Dixie and Gus.
Per his wishes, there will be not any services, but "have a beer and think of all the good times with me".
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boys and Girls Club and the Casper Humane Society in his name.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bustard and Jacoby Funeral Home .
