Frank Leonard
Gambino
Dec 26, 1962 — Sep 10, 2026
Casper
Frank Gambino completed his journey on September 10, 2026 after a long career in Wyoming broadcasting. He was born on the day after Christmas in 1962 in Chicago attending Our Lady of Grace and St. Francis Borgia elementary schools. He found a way to make it through high school at Holy Cross in River Grove and graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa in 1984.
Frank found his way to Wyoming in 1986 and started his sports broadcasting career at KFNB-TV in Casper. He joined KTWO-TV in 1987 and worked at that station for 21 years. He also was the sports anchor for KCWY-TV in Casper from 2010-2016 and had an opportunity to cover University of Wyoming athletics in all four time zones. One of Frank’s best TV memories was covering the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
Beginning in 1993, Frank started doing radio at KTWO-AM, first with Bob Price on the morning show, followed by Brian Scott, Susan Burk, and Glenn Woods. Radio was a free-wheeling style that Frank really enjoyed. He remained in radio and worked with WyoPreps.com until his retirement in 2025. One of his true passions was covering high school sports across Wyoming and all the players and coaches he met along the way. Frank was named the Wyoming Sportscaster of the Year 3 times by his peers.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vito and Elaine and is survived by his son Scott, brother Harry (Tita), his niece Elora and nephew Leo. He will be interred at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in River Grove, IL
Services are being planned and will be announced when finalized.
