In Loving Memory of Hugh Bennett
Hugh Bennett, a man with calloused hands, a sharp mind, and a heart big enough to carry the people he loved through any storm, passed away surrounded by those who mattered most to him. He leaves behind a legacy built on grit, laughter, and a fierce devotion to family that never wavered.
Born with an instinct to tinker and a spirit meant for the open road, Hugh found his calling behind the wheel and under the hood. As a truck driver and mechanic, he knew engines like old friends—every rattle, every hum, every heartbeat of the machines that carried him across countless miles. On the road or in the garage, Hugh was steady, dependable, and unafraid of hard work.
When the tools were set down, Hugh reached for his guitar. Music was his quieter language, the one he used to tell stories he didn’t always speak aloud. He could fill a room with melody as easily as he filled it with laughter. And if there was an argument to be had—especially a good, spirited one-Hugh welcomed it with a grin. He didn’t argue to win, but for the joy of the dance. His humor, stubborn streak, and quick wit made him unforgettable.
But above all these things, the role he cherished most was being a father and grandfather. Hugh loved his daughters with a devotion that stretched beyond measure, and his grandchildren were the lights he carried with him in every mile and moment of his life. He showed up - every single time - no matter how far, no matter how late, no matter the cost. His loyalty was absolute, and his love was steady as the engines he cared for.
Those who knew Hugh will remember his jokes, his opinions, his music, his work-worn hands, and the way he loved without hesitation. He leaves behind a family who will forever miss his presence but will carry his spirit in every laugh, every song, every stubborn argument shared in his honor.
May Hugh find rest on peaceful roads, with the wind at his back and a good tune always close by.
