Jacques G. Champendal, 95, passed away on December 26, 2016 in Casper, Wyoming. He was born February 19, 1921, to George Paul and Mary LaPaugh Champendal in Newark, New Jersey, where his father managed a hotel. When he was six months old the family returned to Rennes, France. He attended school and college in France. At the age of 19 he returned to the United States. He Joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 19 during World War II and served for 15 years. He then worked as manager of Builders Emporium in California until moving to Casper, Wyoming in 1965 to go into business with his brother, Paul. He later worked as a clothing salesman for Harry Yessness until retiring in 1989. He married Jacqueline McMillan Iglehart on October 12, 1967, in Casper, Wyoming. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three step-children, Lara Simon, Richard Iglehart and Virgina Trickett, two grandchildren, Pascale Iglehart, Zeta Trickett; Jean Paul and other numerous nieces and nephews in France and the United States; and a sister - in law, Eva Lemmers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers, Paul, Robert, and Marc Champendal. At his request, no services will be held. Interment will be at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery, Evansville, Wyoming.
