James Irwin Stewart

October 8, 1949 — November 25, 2025

James “Jim” Irwin Stewart was born on October 8, 1949, to Harold Lloyd and Evelyn Irene (Ewalt) Stewart.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy during his early years, an experience that shaped much of his character and discipline.

He married Cindy Menuey, and together they welcomed two children, Thea and Mark. Though the marriage ended, Jim’s devotion to his children never wavered.

A master of his craft, Jim was exceptionally skilled in drywall. He owned and operated Custom Drywall in Casper, Wyoming, where he worked closely with his son Mark, passing down both his expertise and his work ethic. Their time spent working side by side became some of their most cherished memories.

Jim found his greatest peace in the outdoors. He was an excellent fisherman, often spending warm Wyoming days out on the lakes he loved. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time in the mountains, where he created countless lasting memories with family and friends.

A fierce competitor and a familiar face in local leagues, Jim was an avid pool and dart player. He earned numerous titles in both sports, including the honor of competing in a national dart tournament in Las Vegas with his son Mark, where they proudly placed 17th.

Jim also treasured his trips to Mississippi to visit his daughter Thea and her husband Mike. Together they explored the Navy yard and enjoyed fishing for redfish along the Gulf Coast—some of Jim’s favorite moments spent near the water.

Generous, kind-hearted, and always willing to help, Jim would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Above all, he loved his children deeply and unconditionally.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Evelyn, and his sister, Debbie.

He is survived by his son, Mark; his daughter, Thea; his brothers, Lee and Lynn; his sister, Suzanne; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.

Jim lived a life full of laughter, hard work, adventure, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
