James Cruz (Varela) Reno, 42, passed away on May 14th, 2026 in Casper Wyoming. He Was born to Cruz Varela-Duran and Donetta Reno in Casper Wyoming, on January 13, 1984. James led an active life filled with family, friends, and many activities and hobbies. He enjoyed gaming, collecting coins, had a great love for heavy metal music, the outdoors, and watching movies with friends and families. One of his biggest passions was watching the Philadelphia Eagles play football. He loved football season. Most importantly, James had a strong belief in God. He was not ashamed to stand up for what he believed, even if others did not agree.

James is survived by his father, Cruz Varela-Duran, His Mother Donetta Reno, a brother Eric Reno, his sister Elizabeth Varela. He also leaves behind three nieces, Natalia, Eva and Davina and two Nephews Mateo and Kyro. He loved his nieces and nephews and they loved him back. He also had a good friend Shayla Fijacko, whom she considered herself to be his sister.

James was proceeded in death by his brother Brian Reno, his maternal grandparents, Don Reno, and Ruth Reno. Also his paternal grandparents Cruz Varela and Genoveva Duran de Varela.

James loved all his family and friends, and those that knew him loved him back. James will be missed by all of us. James public memorial service will be held on May 23, 2026 at 1:00. It will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3931 West 45th Street, Casper, Wyoming.
