JE Brown

April 27, 1924 — August 18, 2021

Surrounded by love ones J. E. peacefully passed from his home here to join his beloved wife ,of 72 years, Laura Bell,  and friends and family in heaven.

Born in Littlefield, Texas 4-27-24, he was the youngest of 11 children.  Direct descendant of “First Families of Texas” and “Texas Ranger”.

He was a Proud Patriot and loved and fought for his country in WWII. He received a “Purple Heart” for his service in the Philippines.

Shortly after the war he married the of love of his life, Laura Bell and went to work for Exxon.  He worked for Exxon until his retirement and was known for his work ethic and integrity by all.  He worked hard and provided a good life for Laura Bell and their 3 children.  After his retirement they traveled and visited the many friends they had made over the years.

He was known for his kindness and generosity.  He was a long time contributor to many charities and was quick to help any one in need.  His donations directly and through charities helped many.

He had a quick wit and great sense of humor and loved to have fun with friends and family.  He loved and respected nature. Loved to fish, especially with Laura Bell and family.

He is survived by a daughter, Anita Johnson (Maynard), a son Larry Brown (Cheryl), a son-in-law Calvin DeWitt

Grandchildren: Travis Lawhorn (Becky), Michael Brown (Erica), Mike Todd DeWitt (Shannon), Jennifer Harshman (Shaun), Denny Volk, Jerry Volk (Roberta), Marco Barrientos.  Great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

He is preceded in death by his wife Laura Bell Brown, a daughter Linda DeWitt, grandson Terry Lawhorn, and granddaughters Natalie Brown Miller, Amanda DeWitt Barrientos, and Tami DeWitt.

He was loved and respected by many and will be missed forever.
