With profound sadness we announce the sudden, unexpected passing of Jeffrey Walter DeLong at the age of 37. Our family is devastated and in absolute shock by our loss.
Jeff was born October 19, 1987 at the Pensacola Naval Hospital to John and Vikky (Bissonette) DeLong. He grew up in Honolulu Hawaii, a Navy Brat. He attended Aliamanu Elementary school, Moanaloa Middle school before moving to Casper where he attended Centennial Junior High and graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 2005.
After High school he moved to Portland, Oregon and attended Portland Community College. He eventually moved back to Casper and started his meat cutting career at Sams. He then spent ten years at Albertsons meat department until his wife’s passing in February of this year.
Jeff was a proud enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe from South Dakota. He was a traditional dancer in his younger years in Hawaii. He was proud of his indian name “mniwanca hoksila”( Ocean Boy ) given to him by Chief Oliver Red Cloud.
Jeff was the middle son who loved skateboarding with his brothers and all the great friends he made while skate boarding. For many years, while in Hawaii, he enjoyed playing baseball in Pearl Harbor Little League with his brothers Jason, Jeremy and Lloyd. He grew up a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinatti Bengals. Jeff cherished the time he played in a band with his longtime friend/brother Kiel McLaughlin and brother Jason. Traveling around the state and beyond to play different venues. Or he was content just casting a fly line in the North Platte hoping to catch the big one.
In 2015 he met his soul mate Renee Stump and finally wed in May of 2024. They loved spoiling their 3 dogs Emma, Sophie, Meg, Winston the cat. We take comfort in knowing he’s in Heaven with his beloved Renee ,brother in law Gaylin and Lord Jesus Christ.
