Jerry
Endresen
October 8, 1953 – May 30, 2026
Bustard and Jacoby Reception Center
2:00 - 3:00 pm (Mountain time)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jerry L. Endresen of Casper, Wyoming. Jerry was born October 8, 1953, in Gordon, Nebraska to Belva (Billie) and Vernon (Vern) Endresen. The family moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1959, where Jerry grew his family and career.
Jerry deeply respected law enforcement and dreamed of becoming a Police Officer, a dream he achieved with the Mills Police Department in 1979. Through hard work, dedication and integrity, Jerry rose through the ranks, becoming Chief in 1990. During his career, he was instrumental in securing funding and overseeing the design of the police department where it stands presently. He also secured funding for the department's first K-9 unit. He was dedicated to his job and to everyone who walked the halls of the department, regardless of their position. Jerry cared very much for his community and maintained an open-door policy.
He felt privileged and honored to wear the badge. After 34 years protecting and serving the Town of Mills, he retired his badge in 2013.
Jerry and Marcie met while cruising the CY strip in 1974. Marcie was his best friend and they spent over 50 years together.
Jerry loved his family and enjoyed all family get-togethers—well, most family get-togethers! He was so proud of his two girls, Countie (Rosebud) and Corrie (Corrinkadink). They taught him much more than what he could teach them. They grew up to be beautiful young women both inside and out. They could hold their own and match his humor, wit and sarcasm.
He loved his son-in-law Duane and enjoyed their conversations and time spent together whether on the pontoon boat or at home.
He absolutely adored his grandchildren: Taylor, with her infectious laugh; Jerrik, with his kind soul; and Jordan, his playmate.
Jerry's favorite hobby was playing pool and enjoyed a good challenge. He loved his pool table almost as much as he loved his family. He always said he had 3 sets of balls, 2 sets of which were his pool balls. He enjoyed being on pool leagues, and watching his teammates. He always had a good time.
Jerry enjoyed several hobbies throughout his lifetime, including camping, fishing and four-wheeling with friends and family. He could often be found on his front porch drinking a cup of coffee, or puttering around in his garage. He especially enjoyed gardening, and then cooking with his fresh ingredients. He took pride in recreating various recipes at home.
He found both challenge and fulfillment in sculpting and creating, always seeking new projects to undertake. He was a lifelong learner with an insatiable curiosity about the world around him. He was fond of classic Western films, appreciating the timeless stories and characters they portrayed.
It’s impossible to capture who Jerry was and the many memories he gave us in just a few paragraphs. Those who knew Jerry, knew he was witty, artistic, ornery, sarcastic and intelligent. To say Jerry will be missed is an understatement. He loved and is loved.
Rest in peace Jerry
