Jimmie "Jim" C. Bass

Jimmie “Jim” C. Bass, 61, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away on October 10, 2026, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, surrounded by his wife and boys. He was a devoted husband, loving father and an amazing papa.

Jim was born in Miami, Florida on February 4, 1965, the son of the late Jim H. Bass and the late Beverly A. Bass. He graduated from Riverton High School in 1983.

Jim married Sherri S. Stover on October 28, 1988, in Riverton. They raised their family of two boys in Riverton, where Jim worked for Bailey’s until they moved to Casper in May of 2007. They eventually returned to Riverton in July of 2019. Jim worked at Walmart Auto Center at the time of his death. He had two grandsons, Lucas (12.5 years) and Logan (6 years) who were his pride and joy. He also has a granddaughter, Nova (10.5 years) he loved dearly even though he hadn’t seen her in some time.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sherri S. Bass of Riverton; sons, Troy (Kristen) Bass with grandsons, Lucas & Logan of Casper, Wyoming, Brian Bass of Riverton, and granddaughter, Nova of Texas; sisters, Susie (Randy) Rucker of Riverton, Patsy Bass of Riverton, and Cheryl (Chase) Hood of Shoshoni; father and mother-in-law, Rod and Sally Stover; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Shannon Stover of Riverton; nephews, Jason Bass, Trent Stover and Rhett Stover; nieces, Amy Barton and Melissa Rucker, plus numerous family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and niece.

Cremation has taken place per his wishes and family will honor his further wishes at a later date.
