John Welsh

A Funeral Mass for Mr. John F. Welsh, III will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church by Fr. Robert Fox. Rite of Committal will be conducted at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Welsh, 84, passed away peacefully in his Casper home on April 20, 2010. He was born November 8, 1926 in Sheridan, Wyoming to parents John and Norma Keenan Welsh. John moved to Casper during his high school years, attending and graduating from Natrona County High School. He continued his education in Laramie at the University of Wyoming, majoring in Art, following up with post graduate work in Theater Arts. He returned in 1966 for his MA in Drama. After graduating in 1948, John then moved to Evanston, WY where he taught at the high school from 1948 to 1954. From 1954 to 1956, John was in the Army, spending time in Verdum, France. In 1956, John married Marguerite "Peggy" Goodwin Welsh. He returned in 1956 to Natrona County High School where John taught Drama until retiring in 1985. John and Peggy spent many of their summers traveling throughout Europe and New England. His loves were theater, art, movies, music and people. John was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, who passed away in 2005. He is survived by his son Christopher Welsh, daughter-in-law Stacie and grandchildren, Danielle Faith Welsh and Alexander James Welsh, all of Westminster, CO. Donations may be made to the Casper Humane Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home.
