Jon Peden, 80, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Casper, Wyoming. Born on November 28, 1944, in Billings, Montana, Jon lived a full and vibrant life marked by hard work, deep community ties, and a love for connection.
Jon began his career working in the oil fields with True Drilling. These early years laid the foundation for his strong work ethic and appreciation for hands-on labor. In 1984, he found his true calling when he began Peden's Shirt Shop, a business that would become both his lifelong profession and personal passion. Over the next 41 years, Jon poured his heart into the company. He thrived on the relationships he built—cherishing every person he met and formed lasting friendships that extended far beyond business.
Jon’s life was rich with interests that reflected his outgoing nature and zest for life. He had a deep appreciation for motorcycles, cars (well wrecking them) and music, enjoyed playing golf, and rarely missed a good sporting event—regardless of the team or sport. Wednesdays were reserved for “linners,” a cherished tradition that brought together food and fellowship. Whether tinkering in the garage or sharing a quick joke or conversation, Jon found joy in everyday moments and in the company of others.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Jak (Stoni) Hollinger and Tamara (Steve) Hawk; grandchildren Kylie (Kody) Gibson, Hadlee, Hayden, and Hudsen Hollinger; Adam, Aaric, and Andee Hawk; great-grandchildren Kayl, Kooper, and Knox Gibson; his brother Mark (Marybeth) Peden; and nephew and niece, Marshall (Stacey) and Marissa Peden.
Jon was preceded in death by his sister Marilyn Peden and his parents Max and Ann Peden.
In celebration of Jon’s life and the legacy of a man who touched so many through his friendship, laughter, and unwavering dedication to others, a memorial service will be held on October 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Bustard & Jacoby Funerals, 600 CY Ave. A reception will follow at 12:00 PM at The Hangar, 1410 Prairie Ln, Bar Nunn.
To honor Jon’s life, please join us in wearing your favorite Peden’s attire to his service and reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Casper youth sports (e.g. YMCA, Boys and Girls Club).
