Juanita Hill Miller

Feb 19, 1926 — Jun 27, 2026

At her request, no services are planned for Juanita Hill Miller, who graduated from this earthly life to be in the arms of Jesus on Saturday June 27, 2026 at the age of 100 years and 5 months at the Life Care Center of Casper.

She was born Juanita Hill Kohne on 19 February 1926 to Mary Susan (Emswiller) and Floyd Elmer Kohne in Beckley, West Virginia. She was 4th of 5 siblings. Her middle name, Hill, was given to her after the doctor who delivered her.

Juanita grew up in Beckley, WV and graduated in 1944. After her graduation, she went to Washington DC working as a mail clerk for the FBI. Yes. She met and talked to J. Edgar Hoover on a daily basis. She then worked “in the Welfare building.” She moved back to be her parent’s bookkeeper in a laundry and dry-cleaning business in Kaukauna, WI and then in Manitou Springs, CO. It was in Manitou Springs, at the ABC grocery store, where she met her future husband, Earl Miller.

Earl and Juanita were married on 7 June 1952 in Casper, WY. Earl passed in 2006. She called herself a “self-taught accountant,” and worked for MANY accounting firms in Casper until her retirement in 1991. She continued to “keep books” for friends and family until the early 2000’s.

An animal lover to extreme, she raised black cocker spaniels where they were shown in the Rocky Mountain region. There wasn’t a dog or cat she didn’t love, but drew the line at Genea pigs, but that’s another story.

She lived her life on her terms, her way and her time. It’s no surprise she left this life as she came in: her way.

She was a long-time member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Central Wyoming Kennel Club and Kheta Court, all of Casper .

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Miller of Sioux Falls, SD, and Madelaine (Jim) Stout of Casper, and 5 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and the entire family of Life Care Center of Casper.

Memorials can be sent to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Casper Shrine Club or Life Care of Casper in her name.
