Karen Denise Lehrer was born on August 30. 1947 in Rawlins, America. She passed away on September 17, 2025 at the age of 78. Karen was born to Alden and Olive Smith. Karen graduated Highland Highschool in Ault, Co. She traveled a lot due to her father’s employment, and went back and forth through Wyoming. Utah and Colorado.
Eventually ending up in Wyoming at the age of 18. Karen met and married her children’s father and had her first child, Brian in December of 1969. They added Jennifer in May 1977. She shared a business with her first husband for 20 years. Karen then worked for the United States Post Office substation in Casper, Wyoming and met her soulmate, Mike. They married in November of 1994 and spent 30 years traveling the world and making memories.
Karen was creative from the day she was born. She loved all crafts and never saw a challenge learning something new. Her passion was her grandchildren and a love of shopping.
There will never be another QVC Christmas. Karen always brought laughter no matter the company, and her made up songs and horrible singing will forever be cherished. She was also a volunteer at the hospital for many years, and a Doe at the Elk’s Lodge for many years cultivating life long friendships.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alden and Olive Smith, her brother Butch and her step-son Mikey Lehrer.
Karen leaves behind her husband Mike Lehrer and their beloved Paisley, her children Brian Goodwin (Tiffany), Jennifer Keith (George), her step children Jon Lehrer (CeeCee), and Jennifer Pitt (Lenny). Karen had many grandchildren and loved them all; Tyler (Brooke) and Devyn Crowe always enjoyed their many trips, songs, and memories made. She has lasting memories with her dear friends, and always enjoyed sharing her stories with everyone.
Karen will be laid to rest on September 26, 2025 at Bustards Funeral Home, with a brief graveside goodbye at Oregon Trail Cemetery. The reception will take place at the VFW on Bryan Stock Trail beginning at 1:00 p.m. A public viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 26, 2025.
Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone that crossed her path. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered!
