In Loving Memory of Karlin Carlson
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Karlin Carlson, age 21, who left this world far too soon. Born on June 14, 2005, in Casper, Wyoming, to his parents, Beau Carlson and (Leslie) Brooke Leach, Karlin touched the lives of many with his kind heart, resilient spirit, and unforgettable smile.
Karlin was easy going as a child, he always found joy in the smaller things in life and always had a smile on his face. He got to explore many places while traveling on cruise ships with his grandparents LaVonne and Kelly Carlson.
Although Karlin was faced with many challenges in his young adult life. After surviving a devastating car accident that left him in a coma and resulted in a traumatic brain injury, he continued forward, regaining the ability to walk and talk again. Though his journey was not an easy one, he remained deeply loved and supported by the many people who stood beside him. Throughout his recovery he remained optimistic and always had a smile on his face.
Family meant everything to Karlin. He had a very special relationship with all of his grandparents but he held an extra special place in both of his grandmother’s hearts. If Karlin called his grandparents for anything, they were always there to jump in and help in anyway possible. His Grandma Jeri was able to stay by his side while healing from his accident and it’s something we will always be grateful for, her dedication and love for him.
He is survived by his parents, father Beau Carlson and his loving stepmother Michelle Carlson. Mother (Leslie) Brooke Leach. His paternal grandparents LaVonne and Kelly Carlson. His maternal grandparents Rickey and Jeri Leach. His great grandmother Martha Waddell. His brothers Raymond Carlson, Jedi Carlson, Kaden Leach, Parker Lyles, Brogen Dolbare, uncle Ebin Carlson who was more like a brother than an uncle and stepbrother Hunter Melton. His sisters Grace Carlson and Journey Carlson. His uncle Rocky Carlson (Kristen), aunt KatyMay Carlson, uncle Marty Miller, aunt Mandi Hayes, aunt Whitney Gamroth (Kyle), and uncle Eric Leach. Along with many cousins including Kane Carlson, Jordan Carlson, Ivory Carlson, Baylie Miller, Cameron Miller, Rikki Hayes, Copper Hayes, Boston Hayes, Holynd Hayes, Preslie Leach, Grady Leach and Eleanor Gamroth along with many great aunts and uncles.
He is proceed in death by his brother Kobe Jay, Great Grandfather Bob Waddell and Aunt Jaime Miller.
Karlin found a true sense of belonging within the skateboard community, where he formed lifelong friendships and found a chosen family that embraced him for exactly who he was. Kyle Hylton was his chosen brother who was there through thick and thin with Karlin.
Those who knew Karlin will remember his warm smile, his adventurous spirit, and the way he connected with others. His presence brought joy, laughter, and lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Though his time with us was far too brief, Karlin's life made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. May we honor his memory by carrying forward the love, compassion, and connection he shared with others.
