Kathleen Mickey Sanford went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 19th, 2024.
Mickey was born February 7th, 1950in Provo, Utah to Donna Richmond and Willard Von Watts. She moved to Wyoming and it became her home in 1981. Mickey was the matriarch of a very large and loving family, and is now our beautiful angel in Heaven watching over the legacy that she and her husband built.
Mickey was preceded in death by her father, Willard Von Watts, her mother, Donna Richmond Watts, her three older brothers, Buddy, Kenneth and Jack, her two big sisters, Ethel Kupfar and Mary Ellen Anderson, a son in law, William Lynn Felton, and two grandsons, Andrew Fietkau (Andy Bug), and Spencer Sands (Ginger Snap).
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Earl Alan Sanford of Glenrock, children, Toni (Guy) Few, Troy (Connie) Fietkau, Tod (Valerie) Fietkau, Traci (Robert) Sands, Becky (David) Watts, Angela Challans, her baby sister Linda Colleen Watts, and her pride and joy, 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Mickey loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was the sales and marketing manager of a major hotel in Laramie, Wyoming, an ambassador of the Laramie Chamber of Commerce and a successful business owner. She had the historic Tumble Inn in Powder River, Wyoming and TK’s Diner in Casper during the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. She retired and lived at the rig with her husband Earl, and they were able to travel to Alaska, Spain, Columbia and Mexico, as well as various other places, especially enjoying vacationing on cruises.
Mickey loved snow skiing, water sports, paint and dance. However, her favorite activity was planning and having friends and family to her house on the North Platte River for BBQ’s, poker parties and holidays- especially Easter.
She had many friends that were family. Her “sisters of the heart” and friendships were forever. She made a lasting and wonderful impression and impact on everyone who knew her. Her love for her family truly was unconditional and her family was her “reason”. She will be missed beyond measure and loved to the moon and back.
Mickey's Funeral will be Friday, April 26 at 12:00 noon at the Christian Church of Casper. A Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, at 11:00am, with the Committal service to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
