Kathryn Lou Bjorklund, 76, of Casper, Wyoming passed away late on May 12, 2026.
Kathy was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on January 17, 1950, to Waymond Clement Rohrer and Luella Maxine Rohrer, nee Sparr, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She was the middle child with an older sister, Jo Beth, and a younger brother, Waymond Douglas. She was a believer from the age of 2 and was baptized in the Trinity Episcopal Church. She spent her childhood with her many Sparr cousins in Meadow Grove, Nebraska and often visited her grandpa Harry’s farm.
She graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in 1968 which is the same year she married her high school sweetheart, Randy. In 1969, Kathy flew on her own with 6-week-old twin boys, Michael and Eric, to move to California to be with Randy, who had joined the Navy. While Randy was in service, they welcomed their third son, Jared. After Randy was out of the service, they moved back to Norfolk, where they had their fourth and fifth sons, Joshua and Benjamin. In 1980 they moved to Casper to raise their family. Randy was a police officer and Kathy sold Tupperware when her children were grown.
When Kathy became a grandma, she and Randy took any opportunity to travel to see their grandchildren. Kathy was the family’s safe harbor. She was patient and always ready to give advice or just listen whenever she was needed. She served in both the children’s and women’s ministry and sang in the choir at Highland Park for many years.
She was a born-again believer and spent her life praying for and helping people. If she felt the holy spirit calling to talk to a stranger, she would and get to know them and pray for them. If you knew Kathy, and you weren’t saved, you should know that she was praying for your salvation. She loved Jesus fiercely and had a heart for serving. She was preceded in death by her parents; Waymond and Luella, her brother Waymond Douglas, her baby daughter Allison Marie, and her son Eric Gene. She is survived by her husband Randy, her sister Jo Beth (Steven Haack), her children: Michael (Jayme), Jared (Tami), Joshua, and Benjamin; her grandchildren: Lindsey (Timothy Winckler), Breanna, Bailey (Talen Markovich), Hayden, Tesla, Luke, and Hannah; eight beloved great grandchildren, and many cousins who love her deeply.
A funeral service will be held on May 20th at Highland Park Community Church at 10 o’clock in the morning. Kathy loved flowers, but in lieu of them the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Wyoming Hero’s Fund and True Care of Casper.
