Obituary

With profound grief, overwhelming love, and memories that will never fade, the family of Kendall Kane Koschene, announce the untimely passing of Kendall on March 6, 2026, in Oahu, Hawaii. Kendall passed away carrying out one of his greatest passions; riding his motorcycle. Kendall was born to Robert Koschene and Sherry Hayes on April 24, 1986 in Casper, Wyoming, joining his sister, DJ, as the final piece of their family. Later in Kendall’s life he found that he had another brother, Jason, who Kendall instantly bonded with and loved. Kendall loved his mom, dad, sister and brother deeply and even with the distance after moving to Hawaii, he was a regular visitor back to Wyoming to see family several times a year. He spent significant amounts of time on the phone with his parents, sister, and other family members and acted as an amazing host when they came to visit him. Kendall married Hailey Hedberg in 2007, and although they later divorced, his greatest accomplishments and love came from this union; the birth of his son, Ivun, who predeceased him, and his daughter Kieyana, Kendall’s queen.

To attempt to share and embrace every piece of who Kendall was is not possible. To know Kendall is to love him. His loud, bold, and contagious laugh will remain forever embedded in the hearts and minds of those who were ever in his presence. Many were so privileged to listen to his animated stories, laugh with him, and see that smile of his that will be permanently branded into the essence of each person who knew and loved him. Kendall’s life was full and he lived everyday with passion and depth. Kendall had his hand in so many projects and endeavors and was constantly looking to learn new things, make new friends, find new ways to broadcast his creativity, and make a difference in the lives of others. Kendall was a master at computer programming and technical work, a double agent in the Geek Squad for Best Buy in Casper until he transferred to Hawaii; an inventor, an avid axe thrower, and an entrepreneur. He obtained his degree in Robotics from Casper College, scoring the President’s Honor Roll and being a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Kendall was never satisfied with the knowledge he had, always striving to learn and do more. He became a certified deep water scuba diver, tried his hand as a Mead maker, started his own business (Prime Customs), coached the Robotics Club for Casper College, invented many technological pieces, installed custom wiring and fire alarm systems, along with so many other areas of life that Kendall had professional and learning fascinations for. There were no dull moments in Kendall’s life. He brought with him a sense of excitement, enjoyment and adventure everywhere he went. He loved spending time with his family boating and camping at Alcova Lake and was known to some as “BOBO-DA-TOTO,” his Dungeons and Dragons character. Kendall was well-known for his intelligence and abilities to do anything he put his mind to. He was constantly on the verge of his next innovation. Kendall was a volunteer for his community, often standing in the gap to help others and ready to devote his time to cleaning the island, helping his friends, or working with other charities. He headed a motorcycle run benefiting Toys-for-Tots, leading the run as the infamous Grinch. He loved riding with the family he made and embraced as a motorcycle enthusiast; riding as a part of the Misfits and later the 10 B’s Motorcycle Clubs. His motorcycle, whom he lovingly named, “Barbie,” was his favorite toy. Kendall was a full throttle guy, especially on the back roads in Hawaii. He lived his life to the fullest and loved to seek his next thrill. He loved all things living and had a special place for reptiles and his beloved dogs throughout his lifetime. Kendall was said to have had “9 lives” as he, defying all odds, survived being severely burned in an explosion, stabbed in the neck, and many other life-threatening situations that he miraculously escaped. Even in the moments that Kendall was struggling, he found humor, strength, and always persevered.

Kendall had a special interest and bond in the Viking Culture and the Norse religion. He spoke of going to “Valhalla” and his knowledge of Odin, and proudly wore tattoos symbolizing the Vikings. Kendall faithfully wore the Mjolnir, Thor’s Hammer, as a necklace and maintained this necklace as part of his daily wardrobe. Kendall wore his hair in the unique Viking fashion, displaying long red hair with the sides of his head shaved, Viking tattoos revealed on the bare parts of his head, worn in Viking fashion symbolizing his strength, combat prowess, and social status in Viking traditions. Although Kendall was very involved and bonded with the Viking culture, it is important to also note that David, one of Kendall’s brothers, and Kendall’s uncle Jimmy both speak of conversation had between them and Kendall about their faith in God. The family of Kendall stand with great confidence in knowing that when Kendall left his earthly body, he was immediately united with Jesus in Heaven. Kendall is survived by his parents, Robert and Sherry, his daughter and greatest love, Kieyana; his sister DJ (Jessie) Hess; his brother, Jason (Deb) Lake, multiple “brothers from other mothers,”: David Lopez, Anthony Sanchez, Luis Pena, Christopher Sanchez, as well as many others who he called his brothers and sisters. Kendall is also survived by his uncles and aunts, James (Dawn) Koschene and Cory (Kathy) Mathis, his grandmother, Sharon (Don) Mathis, his nieces: Mercades and Tanya, his nephews: Gage, Ethan, Thomas, and Raney; numerous cousins, as well as countless friends and extended family that cannot possibly all be named.
