Kenneth Van Houten

Kenneth Joe Van Houten, age 71, of Casper, Wyoming passed away peacefully on December 17, 2021 at his home. He was born June 13, 1950 to John and Elaine (Knott) Van Houten in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from French Beaumont High School in Texas. After graduation, he enlisted with the United States Army. He met Ruth Ringel while he was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas and later married on February 5, 1972. To this union, Ken and Ruth welcomed two daughters, Shanna and Angela. They later separated.
He worked many years as a loader/operator and ran the scale for Bayer Construction in Zeandale, Kansas. After relocating to Casper, he worked as a Real Estate Broker. He enjoyed watching and participating in rodeos, especially bronc riding.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Joe Van Houten and son-in-law, Shawn Cathcart.
He is survived by his daughters, Shanna (Greg) Sterling and Angela Cathcart, and their mother, Ruth Van Houten, sister, Darlene Julian, 7 grandchildren; Shanna’s children: Miranda (BJ) Brinkman, Mackenzie, Afton, Asher and Ezra Sterling and Angela’s children: Taylor and Tristin Cathcart, 1 great granddaughter, Hadley Brinkman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be kept private.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bustard and Jacoby Funeral Home , 600 CY Ave, Casper WY 82601.
