Kohlman Eugene Claney

Kohlman Eugene Claney, 27, of Casper Wyoming passed away on May 28th, 2025. Kohlman was born November 26th,1997 to proud parents Buddy and Brenda Claney, at Wyoming Medical Center. They got to bring home their “butterball turkey” on Thanksgiving day, where the adventure began!

From a young age he had everyone on their toes, countless emergency room visits and “close calls” he was always busy and into something. You knew it was serious when you heard “Kohlman Eugene” come from his mothers’ mouth. There was no doubt he knew his full name.

His curiosity brought him to wrestle with the most important question in life, “what are we on earth for?” He became a man of faith and was baptized on April 10th, 2009. Once he knew his calling his servants heart soured. He was able to join many missions’ trips with his youth group and his family to Wounded Knee, SD for over 15 years. He was also blessed with an opportunity to join his granny, Jackie, on a mission’s trip to Managua, Nicaragua. This was the first and only passport stamp he was able to receive but had dreams of many more adventures.

Kohlman also had a love of sports, but football was his passion. From playing on a midget football team to watching the Bears on Sundays with Dad, he continued his love into high school where he was part of the 4A state championship team, the Natrona County High School Mustangs, in 2015. He graduated high school in May of 2016. After graduation his passion shifted to aviation.

He was always scared of heights, and proudly proclaimed that, but that fear didn’t stop him from working with planes. He began working at Atlantic Aviation where he began perusing certifications to become “tug” certified. By doing this it allowed him to get up close and personal with all the aircraft that flew into the Natrona Country International Airport. He saw anything from small private planes to commercial planes, to old and new milatry aircraft. He was always busy with the Medi flight planes, and summertime brought some of his favorite planes, wildland fire planes.

He loved anything that went “BOOM!” He enjoyed going out and honing his marksmanship. In recent years he was able to join his brother, uncles, and grandfather at the infamous “Boyd Elk Camp”. He was able to create many memories and bonds there. Anything that involved the outdoors, he was all about. He enjoyed the lake, the mountains, the ocean (with Alyssa) a random dirt road, anything that presented a potential adventure.

Many who knew Kohlman have said that his heart was his most unforgettable trait. He loved with his whole heart and would give the shirt off his back for anyone, including a stranger. His loud belly laughter was always genuine and filled whatever space he was in. He will be remembered by his terrible beard, his obnoxious pit vipers, and his passion for ‘Merica.

He is survived by his parents, Buddy and Brenda Claney of Casper, his sister Katie Wambach (Caleb) of Casper, and his “baby” brother, Kooper Claney of Casper. His beloved grandparents, Pat and Jackie Colling of Casper, Jerry and Renee Boyd of Gillette. His girlfriend Alyssa Tannehill. Various aunts’ uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bob and Donna Claney.

Funeral services will be held at Highland Park Community Church on Friday June 6th, 2025 at 2pm with Pastor Harold Bradshaw officiating. Visitation will be held at Bustard Funeral home on Thursday June 5th from 5-6pm. In leu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Natrona County High School Football program.

The family has asked everyone to wear Kohlman's favorite color, orange, and casual attire.
