Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” Emmons passed away on May 25, 2026, in Casper, Wyoming, at the age of 79.

Larry was born on December 17, 1946, in Red Bank, New Jersey, to Oliver and Rhoda. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1972. During his service, he received numerous honors including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon, Sharpshooter Badge, and additional commendations recognizing his dedication and service.

Larry was a man of many interests and lifelong learning. He earned certifications in mechanics, automotive and welding studies, and early childhood education. He worked as a field consultant for Subway Restaurants and later owned and operated three franchise locations. Larry often joked that he needed the restaurants to keep up with feeding his growing children.

Above all else, Larry loved God and loved his family deeply. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and endlessly proud grandfather whose family was the center of his world. Known for his wry sense of humor, quiet strength, and compassionate heart, Larry had a remarkable ability to make people feel safe, heard, and cared for. He was the person family and friends turned to for wisdom, reassurance, and support.

Larry was a gifted storyteller and an even better listener. He loved late night conversations with his children, spending time with his grandchildren, and sharing his faith with others. He led with kindness, loyalty, patience, and humility, showing his love not only through words but through the steady and caring way he showed up for the people he loved.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Luana; his children Joanna, Micah, and Joseph; and his cherished grandchildren Kortni, Aiden, Madison, Mackenzie, Jackson, Paisley, and Finn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Rhoda, and his sisters, Carol and Barbara.

Larry’s family was his deepest joy, and his love and presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
