Leonard H. "Horse" Jackson JR. 1935-2022 (86)
Leonard passed away with ultimate peace into the Glory of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, WY. in the early morning hours on January 25, 2022.
Leonard was born to Leonard Jackson SR and Elvina Rose {Sharp) on May 3, 1935, in Cody, NE. and as a "very" young man, Leonard set off on the adventure of a lifetime. Born of the generation where "Men were Men", Leonard was the epitome of a Man. In June 1954, Leonard enlisted into the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in April 1956 from active duty, then he carried on enlistment as a reservist from June 1956, until June 1962. The Greatest attribute that Leonard had, was his tremendous work ethic. After a term of ranching in his early career, Leonard chose a life of a truck driver. Whenever you saw Leonard coming down the road, his truck was literally the cleanest truck on the road. The chrome gleemed, the tires were jet black, and you could literally eat off the floor because his truck was so clean. Leonard was one of the hardest working men that we had ever known. He prided himself in everything he did and in everything he had.
On June 6, 1959, Leonard married Roberta "Bobby" (Palmer). To this union were born 3 daughters, Kim {Ken King), Teresa Dawn, Melody Rose and son Victor (Stefanie). Extending Leonard's legacy are the grandchildren, Kristen and Kyle Wise, Adam (Kayla), Derek and Jesse Jackson and Taylor King. Great grandchildren, Maddie, Livy and Gracie Wise, Noah and Emmy Jackson, with an additional Great grandchild to be born in September 2022. Leonard's siblings: Sister-Lolamae, Evelyn, Gayleen, Donna and brothers Jimmy and Kenneth. In addition to our family “core”, is Jack Palmer (J.D.). Jack’s love and care for “Uncle Lenny”, Aunt Bobby and the rest of the family, will never be forgotten. Jack’s love truly reflects “What would Jesus do and How would Jesus Act”. Our Love and Gratitude to Jack!
Those that preceded Leonard in death are his parents, twin daughters at birth, Melody Rose and Teresa Dawn, sisters-Lolamae, Evelyn and Gayleen, nephews-Terry and Micheal.
There will never be another man like Leonard. We all know that Leonard had a HUGE personality. A personality that drew people to him, a personality that caused most to love and cherish him.
There will most definitely be a void in our lives without our Leonard. Whether you called him husband, dad, grandpa, "Pops" or something else, he was truly a gift from God to all of us.
Leonard openly received our Lord & Saviour Jesus Chriat, we have the confidence that we are going to see him in PARADISE!!!
